Senior Manager Export Marketing

Key Responsibilities
Export Marketing & Sales
- Develop and execute export marketing strategies for organic and naturally grown Basmati and Non-Basmati rice and spices.
- Identify, develop, and manage international buyers, importers, private labels, retailers, and institutional customers across target geographies (EU, USA, Middle East, UK, Asia, etc.).
- Drive end-to-end sales cycles: lead generation, sampling, price discovery, negotiations, contracting, and order closures.
- Achieve annual export volume, revenue, and margin targets aligned with company objectives.
Market Development & Business Expansion
- Conduct market intelligence on global demand trends, pricing, competition, and regulatory requirements for organic and natural agri-products.
- Identify new markets, products, and value-added opportunities.
- Participate in international trade fairs, buyerseller meets, and exhibitions.
Contracting & Commercial Management
- Negotiate export contracts, payment terms, Incoterms, and risk mitigation clauses.
- Ensure alignment of contracts with internal sourcing capacities, certification scope, and logistics feasibility.
- Coordinate with finance teams on pricing, forex exposure, credit risk, and payment realization.
Compliance, Quality & Certifications
- Work closely with internal teams on organic certifications (NPOP, NOP, EU, etc.), traceability, ICS requirements, and buyer-specific compliance.
- Ensure alignment of buyer requirements with certification bodies, APEDA norms, and country-specific import regulations.
Internal Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate with procurement, operations, quality, warehousing, and logistics teams for timely and compliant order execution.
- Support forecasting and production planning based on market demand.
- Resolve buyer complaints, quality issues, and shipment-related challenges proactively.
Leadership & Reporting
- Mentor and guide junior marketing or export support staff, if any.
- Prepare MIS reports on sales performance, market updates, and pipeline status for senior management.
- Act as a key contributor to strategic decision-making related to exports.
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 10-15 years of hands-on experience in export marketing of agricultural commodities, preferably rice and spices.
- Proven track record in handling organic and/or naturally grown products.
- Strong existing network of international buyers and importers.
Skills & Competencies
- In-depth understanding of global agri-commodity trade, pricing mechanisms, and export documentation.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Practical knowledge of organic certification systems, traceability, and compliance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
Education
- Postgraduate degree/diploma in Agriculture, Agribusiness, International Trade, Marketing, or Management preferred.
