Job Overview
The Associate Head - Information Technology will be responsible for leading the procurement, implementation, management, and support of VFS Global' s Information Technology infrastructure. Additionally, the role entails managing hardware, servers, desktops, laptops, and peripherals, as well as data centers, network security operations, global project rollouts and budgets for infrastructure operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Infrastructure Solutions and Support
- Client facing Technology SPOC for critical clients.
- Provide infrastructure solutions and deployment support for business needs, including IT applications.
- Develop innovative IT infrastructure solutions focusing on cost reduction, consolidation, or advanced technologies.
- Offer hardware and infrastructure support to ensure optimal solutions and quick Turnaround Time (TAT).
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients regarding downtimes, outages, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Manage vendors including SLA management, evaluation, identification of alternates, and engagement.
- Disaster Recovery – ensure compliance
- Audit & Compliance – including ISO – Ensure no red findings
Project Management and Budgeting
- Manage infrastructure projects ensuring adherence to timelines, costs, and materials management.
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding project issues.
- Prepare and track IT infrastructure project budgets to ensure financial control and transparency.
- Monitor and control IT infrastructure budgets and expenses
- Ensure project rollouts are managed with budgets and there are no overruns
Performance Management and Outcome Achievement
- Conduct performance evaluations of the IT Infrastructure team.
- Demonstrate a drive to plan for and consistently achieve desired outcomes in IT infrastructure projects and operations.
- Handle procurement requests and oversee implementation of projects and equipment.
- Lead the IT Infrastructure team, including administrative functions, team building, and management activities.
- Provide talent management expertise and groom talent for handling assignments.
Team Management & Succession Planning
- Manage and develop staff, including performance management, training, and career development.
- Create and maintain a robust talent pipeline to ensure succession planning (1:2 ratio).
Environment, Social & Governance
- Oversee corporate governance within the assigned region, ensuring alignment with organizational principles, policies, and regulations.
- Promote judicious use of natural resources and adhere to the organization's environment, health, and safety policies, objectives, and guidelines.
- Drive the organization's sustainability initiatives, working towards achieving established targets.
Anti Bribery Management Systems (ABMS)
- Follow the ABMS roles and responsibilities details as prescribed on the ABMS manual.
- Understanding of ethical standards and the importance of integrity in business practices.
- Ability to identify and evaluate risks related to bribery in various business contexts. For more detailed explanation, follow the ABMS manual
Additional Responsibilities (Special Projects)
- Evaluate technologies that can improve IT services, add business value, or reduce waste.
Education
- Bachelor of Engineering - Information Technology or Master of Computer Application or Global Equivalent Degree.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in Information Technology with awareness or exposure to deployment of enterprise-wide solutions.
