As we scale our production, we are seeking a strategic and technically astute sourcing professional to lead our procurement efforts for the critical Body in White (BIW) category.

Job Overview
:

The Senior Manager - Sourcing (BIW) will be the commercial and strategic owner for all procurement related to the vehicle body structure. This role is responsible for developing and executing the sourcing strategy for sheet metal parts, castings, forgings, machined components, and associated fixtures. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of deep technical knowledge, exceptional commercial acumen, and supply chain expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-optimal components from a robust supplier base.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing & Category Management:

● Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy for BIW, aligned with company goals for cost, quality, innovation, and supply chain resilience.

● Lead the end-to-end sourcing process: from RFQ and supplier selection to negotiation, contract awarding, and long-term supply agreement management.

● Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the BIW supply market (raw materials, processing, tooling).

1. Zero-Based Costing & Commercial Negotiation:

● Employ zero-based costing and should-cost modeling to break down component costs (raw material, tooling amortization, process cost, overhead, margin).

● Lead high-stakes technical and commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve best-in-class pricing and payment terms without compromising on quality or delivery.

● Drive annual cost reduction targets through rigorous value engineering (VA/VE), design changes, and process improvements at the supplier end.

1. Technical Vendor Development & Selection:

● Lead the vendor selection and development process, performing detailed technical assessments of supplier capabilities (stamping, casting, forging, machining, welding).

● Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes, quality systems, tooling design, and capacity to ensure they meet Euler Motors' stringent requirements.

● Build, qualify, and manage a sustainable and competitive supplier base capable of supporting high-volume production.

1. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Parts Development:

● Partner closely with Engineering (Design and BIW) teams from the concept phase to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Cost (DFC).

● Manage the sourcing aspect of the parts development process, including tooling fabrication, sample approvals, and APQP/PPAP milestones.

● Collaborate with the Quality team to establish clear quality standards, manage supplier quality issues, and ensure timely Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).

1. Supply Chain Management & Risk Mitigation:

● Manage supplier performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Technology (QDCT).

● Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for the BIW category, including dual-sourcing, localization, and inventory management programs.

● Ensure on-time delivery of parts for prototype builds and production launches.

1. Qualifications and Experience:

● Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.

● 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within the automotive industry, with a dedicated focus on BIW categories.

● Proven expertise in sourcing sheet metal stampings, castings (aluminum/iron), forgings, and machined components.

● Demonstrable track record of successfully applying zero-based costing methodologies and delivering significant year-on-year cost savings.

● Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (stamping, welding, casting, forging, machining), tooling, and fixture design.

● Strong knowledge of quality standards and processes (APQP, PPAP, GD&T, DFMEA).
