Job Title: Assistant Manager Freight Forwarding Sales
Department: Sales & Business Development
Reports to: Sales Manager / Asst. General Manager Freight Forwarding
Location: Bangalore & Chennai
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Assistant Manager Freight Forwarding Sales to join our dynamic Sales & Business Development team. This role will focus on identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and driving revenue growth through effective sales strategies in air, ocean, and land freight services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage strong business relationships with existing and prospective clients across various industries.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities in air, sea, and land freight forwarding.
- Prepare and deliver customized sales presentations, proposals, and quotations.
- Negotiate pricing and service terms in collaboration with internal pricing and operations teams.
- Coordinate with operations, customer service, and documentation teams to ensure smooth execution of freight solutions.
- Monitor and report on sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics aligned with monthly and annual targets.
- Attend client meetings, trade shows, and industry events to promote company services and generate new leads.
- Provide high-quality after-sales support to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and regulatory changes affecting freight forwarding.
- Submit regular reports and updates to the Sales Manager on business development progress.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
- 35 years of proven experience in freight forwarding or logistics sales.
- Strong knowledge of international trade, Incoterms, and freight operations (air, sea, and land).
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a competitive environment.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho CRM).
- Self-driven and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry networking events.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with customs clearance procedures and documentation processes.
- Experience in industry-specific verticals such as FMCG, automotive, electronics, or pharmaceuticals.
- Fluency in regional or foreign languages is an added advantage.
