Job Summary:

The
Junior R&D Chemist
will be responsible for conducting research and development activities in the area of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API). This role requires a professional with 2-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical chemistry, possessing strong technical skills and a passion for drug development. The chemist will work within cross-functional teams to support the company's research initiatives and contribute to the development of new pharmaceutical products.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Development:

  • Conduct laboratory experiments for API, intermediates synthesis and optimization process
  • Develop and optimize cost effective synthetic routes for APIs with a focus on efficiency & scalability
  • Independent performer with ability to troubleshoot and resolve chemical synthesis issues
  • Basic understanding on synthetic characterization techniques like LCMS, NMR, HPLC.
  • Document experimental procedures, observations, and results in a clear, comprehensive manner

Laboratory safety & Data Management:

  • Maintain laboratory notebooks with detailed, accurate, and organized records
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures during laboratory operations
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals and reagents
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and inventory

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or relevant certification is preferred.
  • M. Sc (2-5 years of experience) in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on API and formulation development.
  • Strong understanding of drug development processes, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics.
  • Proven experience in portfolio management and project evaluation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and other relevant tools.
