Role Overview

We are seeking a highly competent, process-driven Unit Manager to lead operations at our institutional catering site in Mangalore. The candidate must hold a Hotel Management degree, be fluent in spoken and written English &
Kannada
, have in-depth knowledge of compliance requirements, industry norms, and SOPs, and be willing to stay on-site during operations. This is a hands-on leadership role spanning operations, people management, compliance, and client relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end site operations for catering and hospitality services
  • Supervise kitchen, service, housekeeping, and stores teams for efficiency and quality
  • Ensure strict adherence to FSSAI, hygiene, safety, and statutory norms
  • Oversee menu planning, production quality, and portion control
  • Maintain all SOPs and process documentation for audits, inspections, and client reporting
  • Monitor inventory, vendor supplies, and cost controls
  • Manage rosters, attendance, training, and discipline
  • Coordinate with Head Office for reporting, billing, procurement, and compliance
  • Liaise with client representatives for feedback and issue resolution
  • Stay updated on best practices and compliance changes; drive continuous improvement

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education:
    Degree/Diploma in
    Hotel Management/Catering Services
    (Mandatory)
  • Experience:
    10–15 years
    in institutional catering, mess services, or large-scale food operations
  • Compliance:
    Strong knowledge of
    FSSAI
    , safety, and statutory requirements
  • Process Orientation:
    Proven experience running
    SOP-driven
    operations with documentation rigor
  • Communication:
    Fluent in
    English
    ; Kannada an advantage
  • Leadership:
    Track record of leading multi-department teams under pressure
  • Tech:
    Proficient in
    MS Excel
    , inventory tools, and basic reporting software
  • Mobility:
    Willing to
    stay on-site
    during operations
