Food preparation and cooking
· Prepare and marinate meats, seafood, and vegetables using traditional Indian spices and techniques.
· Skewer and arrange food items appropriately for tandoor cooking.
· Operate and maintain the tandoor oven, monitoring temperature and cooking times.
· Cook a variety of tandoori dishes according to recipes and standards.
Kitchen management
· Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen area, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards.
· Manage inventory for tandoori ingredients and supplies, placing orders when necessary.
· Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet restaurant standards.
Teamwork and training
· Collaborate with other kitchen staff, such as the head chef and junior staff, to ensure smooth operations.
· Assist with or lead in the training of junior kitchen staff in tandoori techniques.
Menu and innovation
· Assist with menu planning and the development of new tandoori dishes.
· Test new recipes and make adjustments to ensure consistent quality.
