Job Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager
Location: Borivali, Chembur, Lower Parel
Reports to: Restaurant Manager
Experience: 3–5 years in F&B or Restaurant Operations
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Purpose
To assist in the overall operations of the restaurant, ensuring seamless guest experience, consistent food quality, high hygiene standards, and effective staff management. The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in planning, organizing, and controlling service operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Restaurant Operations Management
- Smooth functioning of daily restaurant operations with minimal service disruptions.
- Supervise all service operations and ensure SOP adherence
- Monitor cleanliness, ambiance, music, lighting, and overall environment
- Ensure timely opening and closing checklists are followed
2. Guest Experience & Complaint Handling
- ·Maintain guest satisfaction score of 90% or higher based on feedback forms and online reviews.
- Personally greet and engage with VIPs and regular guests
- Resolve complaints efficiently with a customer-first approach
- Track and report guest feedback to management for improvement
3. Team Management & Training
- · Maintain staff productivity, morale, and readiness for service
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and assign floor responsibilities
- Train and develop service staff on menu knowledge, etiquette, and SOPs
- Monitor grooming and discipline of team members
4. Inventory & Cost Control
- · Reduce wastage and maintain availability of service essentials
- Monitor inventory of crockery, cutlery, service ware, and linen
- Coordinate with the store and purchasing department for timely replenishments
- Assist in cost tracking and reduction strategies
5. Sales & Revenue Support
- ·Achieve weekly sales targets and maximize upselling opportunities
- Support daily billing and reconciliation processes
- Ensure all team members are trained in upselling and suggestive selling
- Promote special offers and seasonal campaigns to guests
6. Coordination & Communication
- ·Maintain clear communication between the service team, kitchen, and management
- Liaise with the culinary team to ensure timely and accurate food delivery
- Update the Restaurant Manager on daily challenges and guest highlights
- Support interdepartmental activities and service synergy
7. Compliance, Hygiene & Safety
- Monitor staff hygiene and safety practices in line with FSSAI and company guidelines
- · Ensure 100% compliance with food safety and hygiene audits
- Conduct regular checks for cleanliness and pest control
- Maintain records for audit and inspections
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management or Hospitality
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant or casual premium dining format
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication in English and Hindi
- Working knowledge of restaurant POS and billing systems (e.g., PetPooja, POSist, etc.)
- Flexible with shifts, weekend/holiday availability
