Job Description:
A store officer manages inventory, tracks stock levels, and handles the receiving, storing, and distribution of goods to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy. Key duties include maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting stock checks, ensuring compliance with safety and company policies, managing shipments, and coordinating with suppliers. 
 
Key responsibilities
  • Inventory management: Receive, store, and organize incoming inventory. Maintain accurate records of stock levels and conduct regular stock checks to reconcile discrepancies.
  • Logistics and distribution: Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure timely delivery and proper documentation. Exercise control over issuing and receiving materials, such as for production or service.
  • Record keeping: Maintain organized records of all inventory transactions, movements, and consumption patterns.
  • Compliance and safety: Ensure the store area complies with all health, safety, and regulatory standards. Implement proper handling practices for different types of inventory.
  • Procurement and coordination: Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for procurement and material requests to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Operations: Monitor daily store activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency. 
 
Required skills and qualifications
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance procedures.
  • Experience with retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite is often required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
