Job Summary:

The Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods. The role requires creativity, attention to detail, and expertise in baking techniques to deliver high-quality and visually appealing items that meet customer and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, breads, cakes, and cookies.
  • Design and develop new dessert recipes based on current trends and customer preferences.
  • Ensure quality, freshness, and presentation of all bakery products.
  • Measure, mix, and bake ingredients following recipes and portion control standards.
  • Decorate pastries using icing, glazes, chocolate, and fruits.
  • Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, and place orders as needed.
  • Supervise and train junior bakers or pastry assistants.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen according to food safety standards.
  • Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with chefs for menu planning and special events.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma / Certification in Bakery & Confectionery / Culinary Arts.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef / Baker in hotels, restaurants, or bakeries.
  • Knowledge of modern dessert trends, plating styles, and international pastries.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
