1. Position Summary
The Staff Cook is responsible for preparing daily meals for hotel staff as per menu cycles, ensuring quality, hygiene, and cost control.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, as per the staff canteen menu.
- Ensure consistency in taste, portion, and presentation of food.
- Plan and prepare meals based on staff strength and menu rotation.
- Assist in menu planning with the Canteen Supervisor or Chef.
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and proper hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
- Ensure all food items are stored properly following FIFO and hygiene standards.
- Handle kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
- Monitor and manage stock of groceries, vegetables, and raw materials.
Hygiene & Safety
- Follow FSSAI and hotel hygiene standards strictly.
- Maintain temperature control logs, cleaning checklists, and stock consumption records.
- Keep all utensils, cooking surfaces, and equipment sanitized.
Cost & Inventory Control
- Ensure minimal wastage of food and raw materials.
- Assist in daily/weekly inventory checks.
Staff Interaction & Service
- Coordinate with HR and Supervisors for meal timings and special requests. To ensure that food to staff at other hotel outlets is delivered ON TIME.
- Ensure timely service during peak staff dining hours.
- Maintain polite and respectful behaviour with all hotel employees.
3. Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of Indian (veg and non veg)
- Basic understanding of healthy, nutritious food preparation.
- Ability to manage bulk cooking efficiently.
- Good time management and discipline.
- Strong hygiene practices.
4. Qualifications & Experience
- SSLC / Plus Two preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a cook, preferably in staff canteen, hostel, or industrial kitchen.
- Basic food safety or hygiene certification is an added advantage.
5. Working Conditions
- Shift-based duty as per staff meal schedules.
- High-heat kitchen environment.
- Standing for long hours.
- Occasional overtime during busy periods.
6. Salary & Benefits
- Salary as per hotel policy.
