The General Manager – Operations will be responsible for overseeing and managing the complete operations of the retail interior projects, including planning, execution, quality, cost control, and timely delivery. The role requires strong leadership, industry knowledge, and the ability to streamline processes to ensure operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operations & Project Management

  2. Lead and manage end-to-end operations of retail interior projects.

  3. Plan, monitor, and execute project schedules, budgets, and resources.
  4. Ensure timely completion and delivery of projects within quality and cost parameters.

  5. Implement process improvements to maximize efficiency and productivity.

  6. Strategic Planning & Execution

  7. Develop operational strategies aligned with company goals.

  8. Forecast material, manpower, and equipment requirements.
  9. Drive cost optimization while maintaining quality standards.

  10. Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and industry standards.

  11. Team Leadership & Coordination

  12. Lead cross-functional teams (Design, Production, Procurement, Site Execution, QC).

  13. Monitor team performance and provide training, guidance, and mentoring.

  14. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  15. Vendor & Client Management

  16. Manage vendor negotiations, contracts, and procurement processes.

  17. Maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

  18. Resolve operational issues and escalate critical challenges promptly.

  19. Quality & Performance Monitoring

  20. Ensure adherence to design specifications, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols.

  21. Conduct regular project reviews and site inspections.
  22. Track KPIs and prepare MIS reports for management review.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Retail Interior Design & Fit-Out Operations.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Proficiency in project planning, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and client-handling skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate in Civil / Interior Design / Architecture / Project Management (preferred).
  • MBA in Operations / Management (added advantage).
  • Minimum 12–18 years of experience in retail interior operations, fit-outs, or related industry, with at least 5+ years in a senior management role.
