Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Export Manager to lead and expand our international trade operations, with a strong emphasis on markets in Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing export strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and managing all operational aspects of the export processfrom compliance and documentation to logistics and customer relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify and explore potential export markets, with a particular focus on Africa.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enter and grow market presence in target regions.
  • Identify, approach, and onboard new international clients, distributors, and partners.
  • Analyze market trends, competition, and customer demands to support strategic planning.

Export Operations Management

  • Manage end-to-end export operations including order processing, documentation, compliance, and logistics.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of export documents (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, BL/AWB, etc.).
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, and government agencies for smooth export operations.
  • Monitor and manage export schedules, shipping arrangements, and follow up on deliveries.

Compliance & Regulatory

  • Ensure compliance with all international trade laws, customs regulations, and documentation standards.
  • Stay updated on trade agreements, tariffs, sanctions, and international documentation requirements (LC, INCOTERMS, etc.).
  • Handle regulatory audits and maintain export-related records in accordance with legal requirements.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with existing and prospective international clients.
  • Handle customer queries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide product and service information tailored to client requirements in different regions.

Cross-functional Coordination

  • Work closely with internal teams such as production, finance, legal, and warehousing to ensure seamless operations.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on export performance and market developments.

Qualifications & Skills:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in International Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • MBA or Post-Graduate Diploma in International Trade or Export Management (preferred).

Experience:

  • 57 years of proven experience in export management, preferably in the African market.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling international logistics, trade compliance, and documentation.

Key Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of export documentation, shipping processes, and INCOTERMS.
  • Strong understanding of customs clearance and international trade regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Tally ERP) is a plus.
  • Ability to travel internationally, as needed.
