Role & responsibilities

1. Export Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and develop new international markets and business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas distributors, agents, and clients.
  • Achieve export sales targets and ensure profitable growth.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.

2. Export Documentation & Compliance

  • Manage all export documentation including invoices, packing lists, shipping bills, certificates of origin, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all export laws, trade regulations, and international standards.
  • Coordinate with customs, freight forwarders, and logistics partners.
  • Maintain records of all export transactions for audit and reporting purposes.

3. Logistics & Shipment Coordination

  • Plan and monitor shipment schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with transporters, shipping lines, and warehouse teams for smooth logistics.
  • Resolve issues related to delays, damages, or losses during transit.

4. Pricing & Negotiation

  • Prepare quotations, price lists, and negotiate pricing terms with international clients.
  • Manage payment terms (LCs, advance, credit) and ensure timely collections.
  • Analyze cost structures to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining profitability.

5. Team Management & Coordination

  • Lead and train the export team to ensure efficient operations.
  • Work closely with production, quality control, and finance departments to meet client requirements.
  • Represent the company in international trade fairs, exhibitions, and B2B meetings.

6. Reporting & Strategy

  • Prepare export performance reports and present them to management.
  • Develop and implement export marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Forecast demand and plan production accordingly.

Preferred candidate profile

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in International Business, Commerce, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Additional certification in ExportImport Management, International Trade, or Logistics will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • 510 years of proven experience in export operations, international sales, or logistics management.
  • Experience in handling documentation, customs clearance, LC (Letter of Credit), and international shipping procedures.
  • Prior exposure to global markets, preferably in [your industry, e.g., manufacturing, textiles, food exports, etc.].

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of INCOTERMS, foreign trade policies, shipping regulations, and international payment methods.
  • Proficiency in export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with overseas clients and government agencies.
  • Good command of English (spoken and written)
  • Familiarity with export-related software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to handle multiple shipments simultaneously.
  • Results-driven with a proactive approach to business development.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Team player with leadership qualities to coordinate with production, logistics, and finance teams.
