Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding the Foundations partnerships, strengthening logistics and distribution operations, and driving revenue-generating opportunities aligned with our social mission. This position requires expertise in logistics and distribution, combined with the ability to build and manage diverse stakeholder relationships.

The selected candidate will work closely with the Founder and be groomed as a second line of leadership, with the potential to take on senior responsibilities in the future. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about societal change who can leverage professional expertise to strengthen supply chains and unlock opportunities for rural entrepreneurs.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Explore and expand markets for products created by Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and local entrepreneurs.
  • Identify, develop, and manage partnerships with corporates, distributors, logistics providers, and bulk buyers (e.g., APMC markets, hotels, restaurants, nurseries).
  • Negotiate and structure partnerships to ensure long-term sustainability and growth.

Logistics & Distribution Management

  • Strengthen last-mile distribution networks for SHG products by building and managing distributor networks across Maharashtra.
  • Identify and collaborate with e-commerce platforms that promote women empowerment and onboard SHG products.
  • Design efficient logistics and payment models to ensure smooth delivery and financial cycles.

Strategic Growth

  • Work directly with the Founder to design and execute business strategies.
  • Translate the Foundations social mission into scalable, revenue-driven initiatives.
  • Take on leadership responsibilities over time, with a long-term vision of stepping into a COO-level role.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with government agencies, corporates, and NGOs to build supportive ecosystems for rural entrepreneurship.
  • Represent the Foundation at external forums to enhance brand visibility.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track progress of business development and distribution initiatives.
  • Provide regular insights and reports to the Founder for strategic decision-making.
