Job Summary:

The purpose of the Managing Director role is to lead the Asia business by developing business strategy for growth and profitability. This individual should direct the company's operations and give strategic guidance to executive leadership ensure that the company achieves its mission and objectives. This role provides site leadership to and is legally in charge of the business unit as a key member of the business leadership team. Responsibilities include attaining and exceeding the sales and business development, ensure site safety, manufacturing quality, on-time delivery performance, productivity, and continuous improvement. Manages activities of supporting departments to ensure the site meets the Sales and financial commitments, that KPIs and Cost are measured and managed, that employees are engaged and productive, and that a philosophy of continuous improvement is encouraged and supported.

Essential/Key Functions:

  1. Develop and execute the company's business strategies in order to attain the goals of the president and functional leaders.

  2. Develop an annual business plan and monitor progress against these plans to ensure that the company attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.

  3. Prepares and implements comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities; identify and develop short and long-term business plans/strategies for areas of responsibilities.
  4. Overall management and development of an industry leading sales team in India and Middle East. Understand the needs of the customers and predict their buying behavior in India and Middle East.

  5. Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the company complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations.

  6. Apply equal focus on all departments of the company, so that the whole company acts efficiently and coordinated. Lead Order Management, Production, Scheduling/Planning, CAM; EHS; Materials Management and Shipping.

  7. Manage the profitability and growth of the organization's operations in India not limited to a specific product line for MIME business.

  8. Provide strategic advice and guidance to the OpCo President and functional leaders providing an accurate view of the market and the company's future. Shares developments within the industry and ensuring that the appropriate policies are developed to meet the company's mission and objectives and to comply with all relevant statutory and other regulations.

  9. Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with major customers, relevant government departments and agencies, local authorities, key decision-makers, and other stakeholders generally, to exchange information and views and to ensure that the company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services.

  10. Prepare, gain acceptance, and monitor the implementation of the annual budget to ensure that budget targets are met, that revenue flows are maximized and that fixed costs are minimized.

  11. Develop and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote the products, services and image of the company in the wider community.

  12. Represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments, and other key contacts to secure for it the most effective contract terms.

  13. Ensure productiveness of the resources of the company and develop well-motivated, trained and developed staff to ensure that it achieves its mission and objectives.

  14. Accountable for financial management and implementation of systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, freight, repair expenses, manpower, wages and salaries; oversee the company's financial performance, investments and other business ventures.

  15. Collects data on new products and writes or gives information for press releases and confers with Marketing on information for catalogues and brochures.

  16. Management Tasks related to Organizational Effectiveness and Efficiency

  17. Legal and Administration responsibility for the Unit with signing authority.

  18. Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth.
  19. Ensures utilization of equipment and materials to maintain expected production and quality levels.
  20. Implement and manage best practices, monitor, measure and report on issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales (i.e. 5S, Continuous Improvement, Lean strategies, Safety, etc.).

  22. Lead by example by encouraging improvement, engaging employees, and treating others with respect while holding team accountable. Communicate frequently, show a passion for excellence and ensure that a philosophy of continuous improvement is encouraged and supported.

  26. Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of direct reports providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.
  27. Review submitted reports by lower level management to reward performance, prevent issues and resolve problems.
  28. Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated from the top down in the company and enforced; create a strong awareness for compliance and business ethics.
  29. Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities.
  30. Providing services and support to internal and external customers, suppliers

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Degree in Business, Technical Management, Engineering, or Finance; minimum of 10 years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Master level degree preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of precision machining industry, project management and supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capability with a proven track record in the management of technical and commercial employee groups.
  • A strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and excellent organizational skills are required.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting documents such as financial information, process documentation, procedure manuals, and different types of contract.
  • Sound knowledge of the plastic injection molding process. Processing experience and mold building experience is an asset to be successful.
  • Executive level presentation skills in order to report the status of achieving goals, financials and/or budget issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with Business Process Understanding.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and represent the company, present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, or employees.

Travel: Ability to travel nationally and internationally as per business requirements.
