Job Summary:
The Head Chef – Continental Cuisine will be responsible for overseeing the entire kitchen operations for the continental section, including menu planning, food preparation, presentation, cost control, hygiene, and team management. The role requires creativity, expertise in continental culinary techniques, and the ability to lead and train a team to consistently deliver high-quality dishes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and innovate continental menus in line with restaurant standards and customer preferences.
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the continental kitchen.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control of all dishes.
- Maintain food cost, wastage control, and inventory management within budgeted parameters.
- Monitor kitchen hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards (FSSAI / HACCP compliance).
- Train, mentor, and motivate junior chefs, CDPs, and commis staff in continental cuisine.
- Collaborate with procurement to source high-quality and cost-effective ingredients.
- Maintain equipment and ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
- Coordinate with service staff for smooth order flow and timely food delivery.
- Stay updated with global food trends and introduce innovative dishes.
- Handle special events, banquets, and promotions related to continental cuisine.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Culinary degree / diploma from a recognized institute preferred.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in professional kitchens with at least 3 years in a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef role specializing in continental cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of European, Mediterranean, and modern continental cooking techniques.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong understanding of kitchen financials – food cost, labor cost, and inventory.
- Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Creative flair with attention to detail and plating aesthetics.
