HR Manager Biotech Startup (Bhubaneswar)

Role overview

The HR Manager will lead end-to-end HR operations with a focus on specialist hiring, employee relations, policy administration, and governance. The position reports to the CTO (She); both the Founder-CEO and CTO are PhDs in Biotech, served for over two decades in the sector, and the founder has been honoured by the President of India, Dr. APJ. Abdul Kalam, for his contribution to the BioTech Sector in India.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and execute recruitment strategies to hire specialized biotech and related professionals across domains and experience levels.
  • Drive employee relations with fairness and empathy, fostering an inclusive, high-trust, and performance-focused environment.
  • Own HR policy administration, compliance, and governance in line with organizational standards and statutory requirements.
  • Partner with leadership on manpower planning, onboarding, engagement, and retention initiatives for a growing technical workforce.
  • Establish HR processes and documentation that scale with growth while reinforcing the company's values and ways of working.

Qualifications

  • Education: MBA (HR) or MSW (HR Specialization).
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in HR with demonstrable strengths in specialist recruitment, employee relations, and policy governance.
  • Exposure to R&D or technology-led environments and working closely with senior scientists/ technical leaders is preferred.

  • It's a Work from office and the company follows a Six-day work week.

  • The role is based in Bhubhaneswar and may require some travel.
