Location - Bhubaneswar
Reports To - Managing Director / CEO / Board (as applicable)

- External stakeholders: Labor authorities, consultants, training partners
- Partners / Contractors (recruitment agencies, payroll, benefits vendors, etc.)
Overview / Purpose of the Role
The GM HR is responsible for defining and executing HR strategy in alignment with EXIM Logistics business objectives. This role will lead all human resources functions to attract, develop, motivate, and retain talent; foster a highperformance culture; ensure legal compliance; support business scalability; and drive employee engagement, organizational development, and change management across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
Area Responsibilities HR Strategy & Planning
• Develop HR strategic plan / roadmap aligned with business growth, logistics operations, network expansion.
• Workforce planning: ensuring right size, skills & structure across operations, depots, offices.
• Budgeting for HR operations & programs.Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
• Oversee endtoend recruitment: sourcing, interviewing, selection, onboarding.
• Build strong employer branding to attract skilled logistics / supply chain talent.
• Set up and maintain recruitment metrics (time to hire, cost per hire, source effectiveness).Performance Management & Rewards
• Design, implement, monitor performance appraisal / KPI systems.
• Link performance with rewards, incentives, recognition programs.
• Ensure fairness, transparency in promotions, increments.Learning & Development
• Assess training & development needs, especially for frontline, supervisory, managerial roles in logistics / warehousing / transport.
• Design leadership development, skilling / upskilling programs.
• Monitor effectiveness of training programs.Employee Relations, Culture & Engagement
• Promote a positive work culture; foster engagement, ownership, accountability.
• Manage grievance handling, conflict resolution and disciplinary procedures.
• Drive programs for safety culture (especially important in logistics), employee welfare, retention.HR Operations & Compliance
• Ensure statutory compliance (labour laws, safety, industrial relations etc.) across all units.
• Oversee HR metrics, MIS, HRIS / database management.
• Manage policies & procedures, contracts, employee records, payroll coordination.Change Management & Organizational Development
• Lead change initiatives (e.g. process improvement, digital HR tools, organizational restructuring).
• Support expansion into new geographies / new lines of business.
• Ensure effective communication of change to minimize resistance.Leadership & Team Management
• Build, lead, mentor a highperformance HR team.
• Set goals, monitor performance of HR staff.
• Foster crossfunctional collaboration.Health, Safety, Welfare
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations especially in warehouses / transport.
• Partner with operations to reduce accidents, absenteeism, losses due to safety lapses.
• Promote employee wellbeing initiatives
