Job Description – Assistant HR Manager
Job Purpose:
The Assistant HR Manager supports the HR Manager in overseeing day-to-day HR operations, implementing HR policies, managing employee relations, recruitment, training, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. This role acts as a bridge between employees and management, fostering a positive work culture.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Assist in workforce planning and manpower requirements.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment process: job postings, screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Oversee employee onboarding and induction programs.
2. Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Address employee queries and grievances effectively.
- Support HR initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention.
- Assist in organizing employee engagement activities, welfare measures, and events.
3. HR Operations & Administration:
- Maintain and update employee records, HRMS, and attendance systems.
- Ensure timely payroll coordination with finance.
- Handle employee confirmations, transfers, and exit formalities.
4. Performance Management:
- Support implementation of performance appraisal systems.
- Assist in tracking employee performance and maintaining appraisal records.
- Coordinate with managers to address performance-related concerns.
5. Training & Development:
- Identify training needs through performance reviews and feedback.
- Coordinate internal and external training programs.
- Maintain training records and assess effectiveness.
6. Compliance & Policy Implementation:
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, company policies, and HR regulations.
- Assist in drafting/updating HR policies and procedures.
- Handle statutory compliance (PF, ESI, Gratuity, etc.).
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of HR functions and labor laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution ability.
- Proficient in MS Office and HR software (HRMS).
- Organizational and time-management skills.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in HR, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory/assistant manager role.
