Position Summary
SUSTRACK seeks a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Sustainability Reporting vertical, focusing on GRI and BRSR mandates. The ideal candidate will have substantive expertise in business development and consulting sales within the ESG and sustainability domain, with a history of successfully closing large-scale corporate reporting engagements.
Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)
- Business Growth and Target Achievement
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve and surpass annual targets for client acquisition and revenue generation in sustainability reporting (GRI, BRSR, CDP, and GHG accounting).
- Consistently secure new mandates and deliver on commercial objectives through successful deal closures.
- Client Relationship Management
- Build, nurture, and expand long-term relationships with CXOs, sustainability leads, and compliance teams.
- Ensure client satisfaction, retention, and repeat business by providing high-value advisory solutions.
- Proposal Development and Deal Closure
- Lead complete business development cycles from market research and prospecting to tailored proposal submission, presentations, negotiations, and contract signing.
- Maintain a strong conversion rate of qualified leads to successful project closure.
- Market Research and Opportunity Identification
- Proactively monitor industry and regulatory trends in ESG, GRI, BRSR, and sustainability domains.
- Use market intelligence to continuously identify and pursue new business opportunities and pipeline growth.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Brand Promotion
- Promote SUSTRACKs capabilities at industry forums, conferences, and client-facing events.
- Cultivate partnerships and enhance organizational brand visibility in the sustainability sector.
- Sales Pipeline Management and Reporting
- Maintain up-to-date CRM records, manage sales pipeline health, and regularly report on business development metrics for review and strategy refinement.
- Travel and Client Engagement
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness for frequent travel across India to conduct client meetings, project reviews, and drive business development objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in business development, key account management, or consulting sales within ESG, sustainability, or reporting services.
- Proven track record in closing corporate mandates for GRI and/or BRSR reporting projects.
- In-depth knowledge of sustainability frameworks, disclosure regulations, and market dynamics.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills at senior corporate levels.
- Self-motivated and target-driven professional.
