Description

Job Description: Accounting Services Associate - General Ledger (GL) 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and maintain/reconcile ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile and review sub-ledgers with the general ledger.
  • Finalize intercompany reconciliation processes; liaise with Accounts Payable and business teams.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly balance justifications and supporting documentation.
  • Resolve outstanding items in reconciliations.
  • Apply record-to-report processes, policies, procedures, and internal control standards.
  • Maintain updated process documentation and desktop procedures.
  • Respond to client queries within agreed turnaround times.
  • Ensure integrity of the Report-to-Record process through proper accounting, signatories, and approvals.
  • Adhere to internal and external guidelines and standardized process landscapes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Review and verify accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications.
  • Assist with audits by providing necessary records and documentation.
  • Conduct studies and propose solutions to improve accounting processes.
  • Assist in preparing statistical and financial reports.
  • Create and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ensure accurate financial recording.
  • Support treasury activities including internal/external investments, banking relationships, cash management, and investor relations.

Skills & Experience

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in General Ledger accounting.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access Database, Outlook, and Word.
  • Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft preferred.
  • Excellent written communication skills for daily correspondence with teams and management.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interfacing.
  • Willingness to work night shifts is mandatory.

Technical Skills

  • Mandatory: Advanced MS Excel and reporting skills.
  • Preferred: Experience with PeopleSoft.
  • Advantageous: Knowledge of Microsoft Access, SQL, and Excel Macros.

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate or Postgraduate with specialization in Accounts.
