Role & responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Credit Manager to lead credit risk evaluation and monitoring for our NBFC-backed steel financing operations. The role requires a deep understanding of credit assessment, financial analysis, and lending compliance, particularly in the infrastructure and EPC sectors. The Credit Manager will work closely with senior management to ensure prudent lending decisions, safeguard NBFC exposure, and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate creditworthiness of clients (infra, EPC, and contracting companies) using financials, ratios, bank statements, and credit bureau reports (CIBIL, Accumn, etc.).
  • Develop and implement a structured credit appraisal framework aligned with NBFC norms.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, overdue accounts, and working capital cycles of borrowers.
  • Recommend appropriate risk mitigations such as personal guarantees, PDCs, or ECS mandates.
  • Draft and review credit proposals, ensuring adherence to RBI and internal compliance standards.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, legal advisors, and recovery partners where necessary.
  • Report regularly to senior management on portfolio health and risk exposure.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Commerce, or related field (CA/MBA preferred).
  • 4–7 years of experience in credit analysis / credit risk management, preferably in an NBFC, bank, or financial institution.
  • Strong financial analysis skills (balance sheet, cash flow, ratio analysis).
  • Knowledge of infrastructure / EPC sector dynamics is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with credit rating tools, bureau data (CIBIL, CRIF, etc.), and risk monitoring frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and documentation skills.
