Job Title: Tender Engineer

Location: Ambattur(OT), Chennai

Department: Estimation / Business Development

Reporting To: Tender Manager / Head of Estimation

Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹40,000 per month (Based on experience)

Job Summary:

The Tender Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for upcoming projects. The role involves studying tender documents, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring all proposals meet technical and commercial requirements within deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review tender documents, drawings, and BOQs to understand project scope.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor inputs.
  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and execution teams to collect data for pricing.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals as per client requirements.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings or site visits, when required.
  • Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to determine the most competitive offers.
  • Ensure timely submission of all tender documents and maintain records for future reference.
  • Support project handover after contract award and assist with clarifications, if needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–7 years of experience in tendering or estimation in construction, MEP, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of rate analysis, BOQ preparation, and costing.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and AutoCAD; experience with estimation software is an added advantage.
  • Good communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
