Role & responsibilities

  • Research external market information and entrepreneurial companies to identify potential sources and suppliers.
  • Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes.
  • Communicate efficiently throughout procurement and directly with customers/suppliers management.
  • Assess new and existing supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity and fulfillment ensuring suppliers are able to meet requirements for performance, quality, cost and delivery of components and requirements for ISO 9001, API Spec Q1, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other applicable customer and internal system and reputation requirements.
  • Travelling, as and when required for vendor development.
  • Carry out new supplier validation audits, with supplier support and supplier Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
  • Achieve goals within budget.
  • Minimum 3 vendors to be appointed for each item.
  • Support continuous improvement through cost engineering techniques and processes, identifying inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Review, analyze and understand economic trends and consider risks and cost implications.
  • Represent sourcing costing on specific projects and co-ordinate tasks.
  • Interact with senior management, as needed on price negotiation, approval of any cost changes.
