Assistant Store Manager – Fashion Design ShopPosition Overview:

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales. In a fashion design environment, the role also requires an understanding of fashion trends, brand identity, and visual merchandising to align with the store's aesthetic.

Key Responsibilities: Sales & Customer Service:

  • Assist customers with product selection, styling advice, and fittings.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Address customer queries, complaints, or concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Drive sales through product knowledge, upselling, and client relationship building.

Team Management:

  • Supervise, train, and motivate sales staff.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure daily team briefings and task delegation.
  • Lead by example in grooming, punctuality, and professionalism.

Store Operations:

  • Open and close the store in absence of the Store Manager.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist in stock ordering and receiving.
  • Conduct stock audits and ensure loss prevention practices are followed.
  • Ensure store cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety standards.

Visual Merchandising:

  • Implement brand-specific visual merchandising guidelines.
  • Assist in arranging store displays and mannequins according to the latest trends and seasonal themes.
  • Ensure promotional materials and signage are up-to-date and well-positioned.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
  • Monitor sales targets and work with the Store Manager to achieve KPIs.
  • Track best-selling items and provide feedback to the buying or merchandising team.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Fashion Design, Retail Management, or Business preferred.
  • Experience: 2–4 years in retail, preferably in fashion or luxury segments.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management.
  • Customer-centric approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good fashion sense and knowledge of current trends.
  • Time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and MS Office.
