Sales Manager (Costing & Estimation – Mechanical)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Manager with a strong background in costing, estimation, and proposal preparation. The ideal candidate will be a mechanical engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience in sales, estimation, and client handling within the manufacturing/engineering industry.

This role requires a blend of technical knowledge and commercial acumen to drive business growth by preparing competitive offers, managing client relationships, and ensuring profitable project acquisition.

Experience in dealing with government bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle costing and estimation of projects, including preparing technical & commercial proposals.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, resource evaluation, and cost analysis for customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with the design, production, and procurement teams to gather inputs for accurate quotations.
  • Review tender documents, technical specifications, and prepare compliant bids.
  • Drive sales activities by identifying potential clients, developing relationships, and securing new business.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients to close deals profitably.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and provide inputs for strategic business planning.
  • Maintain strong client relations for repeat and long-term business opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and customer requirements during the bidding process.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, fabrication, manufacturing processes, or EPC projects.
  • Proven experience in costing, estimation, tendering, and sales management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP/CRM tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience in engineering / manufacturing / fabrication / EPC / capital equipment industry.
  • Exposure to handling medium to large-scale projects.
  • Strong network of industry contacts.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹45, ₹60,000.00 per month
