Job Title: General Manager Sales- Domestic Transformer Oil
Location: Mumbai
Department: Sales & Marketing Transformer Oil
Reports To: Vice President / Business Head Transformer Oil Division
Business Volume: 15, 000 to 16, 000 KL Per Month
Job Summary:
The General Manager Transformer Oil will be responsible for leading and managing the entire domestic sales operations across India. The incumbent will head a team of 1520 professionals, driving business growth through effective tender management, key account handling, and strategic customer engagement with State DISCOMs, Utilities, and Transformer OEMs. The role demands a technically strong, result-oriented leader with extensive experience in the Power and Transformer industry.
Key Responsibilities / Result Areas:
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, motivate, and guide a team of 1520 sales professionals to achieve business objectives.
- This role is intended to transition into full leadership of the domestic transformer oil business over the next 1824 months, as part of a structured succession plan for the current divisional head.
- Foster a performance-driven, collaborative, and growth-oriented team culture.
Build and develop future sales leaders within the team.
Key Result Areas:
Manage and nurture long-term relationships with major Transformer OEMs, State Electricity Boards, and Utilities.
- Work closely with the current head during the transition period to absorb legacy business relationships, tendering strategies, and operational nuances, ensuring business continuity.
- Identify business opportunities, monitor competitor activities, and drive strategic initiatives to retain and grow key accounts.
- Oversee the entire tendering process for State DISCOMs, Utilities, and large industrial customers from bid preparation and submission to order execution and payment realization.
- Ensure compliance with tender requirements and company policies.
Track tender performance and maintain strong relationships with procurement and technical departments of key utilities.
Business Development & Market Expansion:
Drive domestic sales growth by identifying new markets, applications, and customer segments.
- Promote companys new product lines and technical innovations to customers.
Participate in technical discussions, seminars, and exhibitions to enhance market presence.
Commercial & Payment Management:
Ensure timely order execution, dispatch coordination, and payment collections.
Monitor receivables and maintain financial discipline in all business transactions.
Travel & Field Engagement:
Willingness for extensive travel across India to meet customers, review business performance, and explore new opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
Educational Qualification:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
MBA/PGDBM in Marketing or Business Management will be an added advantage.
Experience:
2025 years of proven experience in Transformer / Power Industry, preferably in Transformer Oil Sales, Transformer Manufacturing, or Power Equipment Business.
- Demonstrated experience in key account management, tender handling, and utility business.
- Strong leadership background in managing large, geographically spread teams and customer base.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent understanding of tendering processes in the power sector.
- Technical understanding of transformer oils and transformer applications.
- Strategic thinking with strong customer orientation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- High energy, self-motivated, and willing for extensive travel.
- Hands on knowledge of CRM & SAP is must.

This is a strategic succession role intended to transition into full leadership of the domestic transformer oil business within 1824 months. The ideal candidate will not only bring deep industry experience and leadership capability but also demonstrate the ability to preserve legacy strengths and culture while driving future growth.
