Key responsibilities
Key responsibilities of an IT Administrator include:
Infrastructure Management: This involves installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, operating systems, and networks, including virtualization and cloud environments. They also monitor network components like routers and firewalls.
User and Access Management: They manage user accounts and permissions, handle onboarding and offboarding, and troubleshoot access issues.
Data Management: Responsibilities include implementing backup and disaster recovery plans, scheduling backups, and testing recovery procedures to ensure data protection.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization: They monitor system health and performance using various tools, optimize system resources, and identify and resolve issues that could cause slowdowns.
