### **Job Overview**:
Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for companies, including recording day-to-day financial transactions, preparing financial statements, reconciling bank accounts, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role is crucial for ensuring that a business’s financial operations run smoothly.### **Key Responsibilities**: knowledge of tally is must.
**For both UK and USA**:
- **Record Financial Transactions**:
- Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts and posting transactions.
- Ensure accuracy in accounts payable and receivable.
- **Maintain Ledgers**:
- Post and reconcile cash receipts, expenses, and other financial data in ledgers or software systems.
- Track and manage credit card and bank transactions.
- **Prepare Financial Statements**:
- Generate balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports, and other financial statements.
- Collaborate with accountants for periodic audits and tax reporting.
- **Bank Reconciliation**:
- Reconcile bank accounts at monthly intervals, ensuring accuracy in bank balances and statements.
- **Payroll Processing**:
- Process employee payroll, ensuring timely payments and compliance with local laws.
- Manage and file payroll taxes.
- **Compliance and Reporting**:
- Ensure adherence to legal accounting practices and reporting standards in both jurisdictions.
- Assist in preparing documents for tax filing and regulatory audits.
- **Expense Tracking and Budgeting**:
- Monitor expenses and help in preparing and managing budgets.
- Identify and rectify discrepancies in financial data.
- **Software Usage**:
- Use bookkeeping software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or other accounting software.
- Ensure data integrity and backups of financial information.
## **Key Skills and Qualifications**:
- **Experience**:
2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with small to medium businesses.
- Experience working with small and medium-sized businesses in the UK and US markets is a plus.
- **Knowledge of Local Regulations**: Familiarity with UK-specific (FRS, VAT, HMRC) or US-specific (GAAP, IRS, state taxes) regulations.
- **Attention to Detail**: Ability to manage large volumes of data with accuracy.
- **Analytical Skills**: Ability to analyze financial reports and identify trends or issues.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in bookkeeping software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, etc.).
- **Communication**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting financial matters to management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
