
Key Account Executive- Modern Trade

Job Summary:
The Key Account Executive (Modern Trade) will be responsible for managing and growing
the company's business within assigned modern trade accounts. This role focuses on sales,
relationship management, and execution of promotional strategies in line with company
objectives. The Key Account Executive will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams
to achieve business goals and ensure effective execution at the store level.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Account Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key modern trade customers
(e.g., retail chains, supermarkets, hypermarkets).
- Regularly meet with key accounts to discuss business performance, share
updates, and address issues.
- Negotiate and implement annual business plans, promotional plans, and
merchandising agreements with accounts.
2. Sales Performance:
- Achieve sales targets, revenue goals, and profitability targets within assigned
accounts.
- Monitor and analyse sales performance data, identifying trends and
opportunities to increase sales.
- Execute sales strategies and promotional activities to maximize sales growth
and market share.
3. Promotion & Merchandising Execution:
- Implement and monitor in-store promotional activities, ensuring visibility and
placement of products.
- Collaborate with the merchandising team to ensure product availability,
display, and shelf standards are met.
- Ensure execution of brand and product positioning at the store level.
4. Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with supply chain, logistics, and demand planning teams to
ensure timely deliveries and adequate stock levels.
- Coordinate with the finance team to manage account receivables and ensure
timely payments from customers.
- Collaborate with marketing and brand teams to align sales efforts with brand
objectives and promotional campaigns.
5. Reporting:
- Monitor and submit regular sales reports, account performance reviews, and
forecasts.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, agreements, and
promotional activities.
- Use data to identify business opportunities and recommend actionable
strategies to the sales leadership team.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a
related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in key account management, sales, or modern
trade, preferably within FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or a related industry.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Analytical mind-set with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Other: Willingness to travel for client meetings and store visits as required.
