quality control (QC) inspector's job is to ensure that products meet production standards and are delivered to consumers in a quality condition. Their responsibilities include: Inspecting QC inspectors inspect materials, products, and production processes to identify defects and ensure compliance with standards. They may use calipers, gauges, or micrometers to measure products, and operate electronic inspection equipment. Monitoring QC inspectors monitor operations to ensure they meet production standards and legal requirements. They may also monitor the use of equipment to ensure it's safe. Recording QC inspectors record inspection results, such as weights, temperatures, and quantities inspected. They may also summarize re-works and wastes, and input data into a quality database. Training QC inspectors may train production teams on quality control measures. Improving QC inspectors may propose improvements to the production process, and follow up with updated processes to avoid future defects. Communicating QC inspectors use written and verbal communication skills to generate audit reports, delegate tasks, and create rapport with staff. QC inspectors may work in a variety of locations, including assembly lines, laboratories, or a quality control department. They often work full-time, but may also work evenings or weekends, or overtime.
