Junior Data Migration Architect

**Roles and Responsibilities**:
**Responsibilities**:
**General responsibilities -**
- Identify and develop appropriate software architecture based on requirements and design elements contained in a system specification.
- Participate in the system specification review process to ensure that system requirements can be translated into valid software architecture.
- Maintain and evolve software architecture documents based on evolving system requirements, industry trends and technologies.
- Create detailed software design and implement and/or maintain code according to assigned responsibilities.
- Assist Software Designer/Implementers in creating detailed software design specifications.
- Lead software architecture documents review process.
- Analyze risks and report problems in meeting system architecture requirements.
- Perform software version control and maintain periodic compliance schedule.
- Comply with product development processes.
- Ensure overall integrity of the software architecture and validate it against the system specification.
- Integrate internal and external product design to deliver a cohesive user experience.
- Lead data migration discussions with customer

**Responsibilities: Data Migration -**
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of OneShield in-house data migration tool.
- Perform POC of new conversion requirements as per project requirement.
- Design conversion solutions for new Insurance products.
- Perform periodic evaluation of data migration tool performance, memory management & security aspects.
- Propose new solutions as per the changing business needs with focus on performance and rapid scaling.

**Skills Required**:
Oveall - 3 - 5+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle/SQL Server/DB2, ETL, Data Mapping, Data Migration and Object Oriented programming language

**Desired Technical Skills**
- Strong Experience in JDBC, and relational database management systems such as, Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2 is required.
- Mastery in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, or any other query language. Should be conversant of the new features available in the language.
- In-Depth knowledge of performance tuning, parallel executions/ concurrent programming, DB profiling, and monitoring.
- Mastery in Object Oriented Design, Data Structures, Algorithms and Programming including full software development life cycle.
- Exposure to
- OOPS concepts and Java programming.
- Application servers such as WebSphere, JBoss, etc.
- Version control management tools such as SVN, Git, etc.
- Knowledge of multiple high level programming languages, various design patterns, implementation and testing tools.
- Excellent problem solving bent of mind and out of the box thinker.
- Prior experience in Data migration projects, ETL processes, SSIS, etc.
- Any experience in using or contributing to open-source projects is a great bonus.

- Must be organized, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into a tangible form.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of Scrum or other agile development methodologies is desirable.

**Education**
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering required.
- Any professional certifications / MOOC’s - OCA, OCP, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, TOGAF will be preferred.
- Any certification in the insurance domain is a bonus**.**

**Primary Skills**:

- Mastery in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, with strong knowledge on JDBC+SQL Server/DB2 etc.
