The New Relic Office of the CTO is looking for a Technology Principal to join our Asia Pacific team in India. In this role as a Director, you will articulate New Relic’s vision and competitive differentiation to establish strategic relationships, and engage with customers or partners to understand how our products and technologies can best meet their objectives and maximize value. You will also provide valuable feedback and insights to our product and technology teams

As a key leader of the Office of the CTO, the Technology Principal acts as a spokesperson for New Relic in the market overall, and as a member of the cross-functional business development team that our sales leaders rely on to build relationships with target accounts that create long-term, fast-growing customer engagements.

This role is a customer-facing role aligned to work with our most strategic or enterprise customers and prospects on their IT transformations and enterprise business architecture. Working alongside our sales and pre-sales teams, you will effectively realize strategic sales opportunities with account teams by enabling customers to translate their business strategy into a technology vision and roadmap to deliver on their business outcomes

You are the face and voice of New Relic to executives leading digital transformation initiatives, and the go-to person for telling our story to the market (on stage at events, during industry-wide webcasts, and in conference rooms at the largest companies).

As an experienced leader on the customer side, you are essential to validating our approach to solutions strategy, product strategy, and business value models, acting as a consultant to our solutions marketing, product marketing, and technical sales teams.

You will need a creative and entrepreneurially minded approach, matched with a deep experience base as a technology and business leader in growth companies and public enterprise leaders. We need you to be an engaging communicator, who's passionate about technology, and someone who loves interacting with clients and prospects.
- What you'll do- Engage with customers at all levels to explain New Relic’s vision and establish and reinforce New Relic as an industry leader while establishing trusted relationships
- Understand customer objectives and challenges at technical and business levels in order to explore and develop innovative ways to arrive at new outcomes
- Act as an advocate of the customer at all stages of the engagement process and play an Executive Sponsor role for key strategic accounts.
- Work closely with our Sales and Customer Adoption teams in the field, with your peers in the Office of the CTO, and with our Product and Engineering teams.
- Engage with Engineering, Solutions and Incubation teams to support customers in advanced and innovative solutions and prototypes for their most complex and ambitious projects
- Work with the Office of the CTO team to provide structured feedback to our Product, Engineering and Corporate teams on market, competition, technology, industry verticals
- Use field insights to influence organic and inorganic investments
- Build a community of passionate technology leaders, who want to share their best practices to improve their teams and their companies
- Seek opportunities to bring valuable content and opinionated perspectives to senior executives in our target markets
- Attend and speak at meetups and conferences, serving as an evangelist, and mentor to users. Position New Relic as a technical leader with vision, both online and offline
- Publish blog and social posts and webcasts that highlight best practices methodologies and offer a new perspective.
- This role requires- 7+ years of leading and running technology teams, preferably at executive level
- Experience as a leader at Fortune/Global 2000 or Scale-up/Scaled digital native
- Experience leading transformation initiatives, e.g. Cloud migration, DevOps, Software refactoring.
- Field proven understanding and experience of software development practices and technologies
- Track record of engaging with customer executives and leaders and building rapport.
- Proficiency in translating business and technical objectives into sound technology strategies and solutions
- Ability to act as an industry specialist in both customer meetings and public settings
- Track record of achievement in high-growth environments with aggressive acquisition and pipeline objectives
- Stay close to market, industry and technology trends Strong verbal, written, and visual communication and presentation skills
