**Job Title**: Freight Forwarder**Job Overview**:
A Freight Forwarder is responsible for organizing the shipment of goods and coordinating the transportation process from one location to another. The individual ensures that shipments comply with regulations, prepares necessary documentation, and manages logistics in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Coordinate Shipments**: Manage the shipment of goods via multiple transportation methods (air, sea, rail, truck) from the point of origin to the final destination.
- **Prepare Documentation**: Ensure that all required shipping documents (e.g., bill of lading, invoices, export/import permits) are correctly prepared and compliant with international trade regulations.
- **Customs Compliance**: Work closely with customs brokers and agencies to ensure compliance with customs regulations and tariffs. Provide guidance on import/export restrictions and duties.
- **Negotiate Rates**: Negotiate shipping rates with carriers and third-party service providers to ensure cost-effective solutions for clients.
- **Track Shipments**: Monitor the progress of shipments and communicate updates to clients, including handling delays, damages, or other issues that may arise.
- **Handle Freight Claims**: Resolve any disputes or issues related to freight damage, loss, or delays by filing claims with insurance companies or carriers.
- **Liaison Between Clients and Carriers**: Act as the intermediary between clients (importers/exporters) and shipping carriers, providing updates on shipment status, arranging pick-ups, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- **Ensure Safety and Compliance**: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international shipping regulations, safety protocols, and best practices. Ensure that all shipments are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
- **Inventory Management**: Oversee inventory levels and manage warehouse storage for goods awaiting transport.
- **Client Relationship Management**: Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, offering shipping solutions, and ensuring satisfaction throughout the shipping process.
- **Budgeting & Cost Control**: Assist in the development of budgets for freight operations, track expenses, and work to reduce costs while maintaining service quality.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Education**: A bachelor’s degree in logistics, international business, or a related field is often preferred.
- **Experience**: At least 2-3 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related industry.
- **Technical Knowledge**: Familiarity with shipping and transportation systems, freight forwarding software, and tracking tools.
- **Regulatory Knowledge**: In-depth understanding of customs regulations, international trade, and shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, commercial invoices, certificates of origin).
- **Communication Skills**: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
- **Problem-Solving**: Ability to think quickly and resolve issues related to shipments, delays, damages, or lost goods.
- **Attention to Detail**: A keen eye for accuracy in preparing and reviewing shipping documentation.
- **Customer Service**: Excellent customer service skills to handle client requests and concerns effectively.

**Working Conditions**:

- **Location**: Typically based in a logistics office, with some travel to ports, warehouses, or customer sites.
- **Hours**: Can vary depending on the shipping schedules and deadlines. Some evening or weekend work may be required to meet client needs or shipping deadlines.
- **Environment**: Often requires work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a focus on detail and customer service.

Pay: ₹10,244.24 - ₹73,146.09 per month
