**About MSSRF**: The M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) was established in

1988 as a not-for-profit trust. MSSRF was envisioned and founded by

Professor M. S. Swaminathan

winner. The Foundation aims to accelerate use of modern science for

agricultural and rural development for development and dissemination of

technology to improve lives and livelihoods of tribal and rural communities.

MSSRF follows a pro-poor, pro-women and pro-nature approach and

applies appropriate science and technology options to address practical

problems faced by rural populations in agriculture, food and nutrition.

The Foundation works in the areas of Natural Resource Management,
Biodiversity, Biotechnology, Food, Health, Nutrition and Livelihood
Security and Skill and Capacity Development using modern Information and
Communication Technologies. MSSRF is present in six states of India. Please

**Essential Qualifications**:Graduate in journalism, English, Media, and / or Communication

One / two-years work experience in media or communication

roles preferred

**Desirable Qualification**:Knowledge of and ability to utilise social media
**and Experience **

Skills in website content development

Knowledge of development and environment issues is an asset

Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with scientists,

public, and media personnel

Good writing and editing skills; ability to draft press releases,

concept notes, backgrounders

Ability to handle digital camera for still photography is as asset

Reading and writing knowledge of Tamil preferred; working

knowledge of Hindi appreciated

Support the activities of the Centre as per MSSRF’s vision

Engage with journalists across the country to facilitate the science
- society interface

Contribute to production of knowledge products and tools

including e-newsletter, website, social media, audio-video and

print publications

Support various events, conferences and lectures as required

Support in capacity development initiatives for the media and

other stakeholders

Prepare and maintain periodic reports for the Centre
