**Role Overview**:
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials, hardware, finishes, appliances, and services required for modular kitchens and wardrobes manufacturing. The role demands strong vendor management, cost control, and an understanding of modular furniture production requirements to ensure timely supply without compromising quality.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Sourcing & Vendor Management**:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for wood, laminates, veneers, boards, shutters, hardware (hinges, channels, handles), appliances, and fittings.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and credit terms to achieve cost savings and long-term supplier partnerships.
- Maintain a supplier database with performance tracking (quality, delivery timelines, pricing).
- **Procurement & Inventory Control**:
- Raise purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods as per production schedules.
- Coordinate with production and design teams to understand project-specific material requirements.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and overstocking.
- Monitor market trends and price fluctuations for key raw materials.
- **Quality & Compliance**:
- Ensure procured materials meet company’s quality standards and technical specifications.
- Work closely with Quality Control team to address non-compliance or rejected materials.
- Ensure suppliers adhere to ethical, environmental, and statutory compliance standards.
- **Cost & Process Optimization**:
- Continuously explore alternative vendors and materials for cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Implement best practices in procurement processes to reduce wastage and improve efficiency.
- Support management in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
**Skills & Competencies**:
- Strong knowledge of **furniture industry raw materials, hardware, and finishes.**:
- Excellent **negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.**:
- Familiarity with **ERP systems / procurement software** for order tracking.
- Strong **analytical and problem-solving abilities.**:
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in **Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.**:
- Minimum **3-5 years of procurement experience** (preferably in modular kitchens, wardrobes, or furniture industry).
- Experience in handling **domestic and imported material sourcing** (Italy, Germany, etc. will be a plus).
- Knowledge of **modular manufacturing processes** is highly desirable.
**Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**:
- On-time material availability for production.
- Cost savings achieved through effective negotiation.
- Supplier performance & quality rating.
- Inventory turnover ratio & reduction in excess stock.
- Compliance with procurement processes.
