Position: Area Sales Manager – General Trade, Consumer Care Division (CCD) Reporting to : Regional Sales Manager Industry : FMCG We are one of the leading and fastest growing FMCG companies dealing in cosmetics, personal care and healthcare in India. We are looking for a high-performing Area Sales Manager (ASM) to lead channel strategy, sales execution, and team management for our Consumer Care – General Trade Division . If you have strong FMCG experience and a passion for building winning markets, we would love to connect Sales Planning & Execution Develop and implement sales plans aligned with company strategy to achieve area sales targets. Ensure all sales activities adhere to allocated budgets and trade marketing guidelines. Execute trade promotions and customer engagement schemes to drive business growth Sales Performance Improvement Improve distributor and field force efficiency through automation and capability building. Support new product launches and promotional activities to strengthen brand positioning. Plan and implement SKU and Distributor wise - Coverage, Reach and Strike Rate (CRS) norms for the month – using them to achieve brand and product-level sales goals Market Intelligence & Reporting Analyse sales data and provide actionable insights to the Regional Sales Manager Monitor competition and provide feedback for counter-strategies to Regional Sales Manager Ensure stock availability and hygiene across the distribution network. Coordinate with depots for smooth stock movement, hygiene, timely product delivery and claim settlements. Address and resolve damage claims arising during in-transit movement of goods. Manage and lead a team of Area Sales Executives and Market Reps Train and develop team members to ensure capability enhancement and performance delivery. 5–7 years of FMCG sales experience, with at least 3-4 years in ASM role in General Trade (CCD) ~ Proven expertise in driving the sales strategies through efficient channel management and sales management for achievement of the sales and distribution targets for the assigned territory. ~ Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint ~ MBA/PGDM in Marketing, Sales, or Business Management Effective Sales Planning – Skilled in proactively developing and executing monthly and quarterly sales plans, ensuring alignment between team objectives and broader business goals. Expertise in Trade Marketing Scheme Execution – Well-versed in interpreting, and executing trade-marketing initiatives that effectively engage channel partners and boost in-market performance. Digital Proficiency – Adept at leveraging sales force automation tools, distribution management systems, and data analytics to enhance operational efficiency and field effectiveness. Results-Orientation – Consistently delivers or exceeds performance targets, driven by a strong sense of accountability and business ownership. Commercial Acumen – Combines sales expertise with a solid understanding of profitability, cost control, and operational levers to ensure sustainable business growth. Effective Team Leadership – Capable of leading, motivating, and developing sales teams to achieve high performance and meet business objectives.
