Staff Accountant

Primary Responsibilities:
Execute month-end close tasks, preparing and reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for areas such as T&E Expense, Intercompany, Prepaids, Fixed Assets, and Expense Accruals.
Prepare Balance Sheet and P&L fluctuation analyses, investigating variances as needed.
Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reporting schedules.
Evaluate current processes and systems to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls over accounting processes and systems.
Deliver high-quality customer service by providing timely, insightful financial information and reports to finance and non-finance business partners.
Support quarterly reviews and annual audits, responding to external auditor inquiries.
Handle ad hoc accounting projects and requests as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (preference for chartered accountants)
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to thrive in deadline-driven, high-pressure situations
Hands-on experience in finance operations, particularly in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or payroll
Minimum 1-4 years of post-qualification experience
Ambition to advance to a senior engagement role
Solid understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Capability to manage multiple engagements and collaborate with both domestic and U.S.-based teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP systems such as Deltek Costpoint, Cognos, or QuickBooks
Background in a major consultancy (e.g., Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC) is a plus
