Job Purpose:

To oversee the procurement of packaging materials for the company, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards. The role involves sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers, as well as implementing cost-saving measures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and Procurement: Identify and source reliable suppliers for primary packaging materials (laminates, pouches, LDPE/HDPE bags, CFC, bottles, jars, labels, etc.).
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to optimize pricing and delivery times.
  • Ensure timely procurement of packaging materials to meet production requirements.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Implement strategies to streamline the packaging supply chain and reduce costs.
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all packaging materials meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct quality inspections and tests to verify product quality.
  • Work with suppliers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends and explore alternative suppliers to optimize costs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on packaging regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Research and implement innovative packaging solutions to improve product presentation and reduce costs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in packaging processes and procedures.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of packaging materials and industry standards
  • Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • A results-oriented approach and a focus on continuous improvement


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, or a related field
  • MBA or PGDM from a reputed institute.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Packaging Procurement.
  • Certification in packaging engineering or supply chain management
