Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to oversee the end-to-end procurement process and drive cost-effective purchasing initiatives. This role requires a hands-on professional with expertise in sourcing, supplier management, and strategic cost optimization to support the organization's operational and financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to reduce overall costs while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Build and sustain long-term partnerships with suppliers through effective alliances and collaboration.
- Continuously improve and automate procurement processes for greater efficiency.
Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery adherence.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements and the best total acquisition costs.
- Perform market analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities and reduce dependency on single suppliers.
Purchasing and Cost Control:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Ensure cost-effective and favorable procurement of direct and indirect materials.
- Control procurement spending and foster a culture of long-term savings.
- Research and apply appropriate costing techniques to benchmark prices across commodities and items.
Operational Excellence:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and ensure timely fulfillment.
- Manage inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing excess.
- Monitor demand forecasts and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
- Prepare and manage budgets related to procurement activities.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Oversee contract management, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Develop selection criteria and conduct supplier analysis to rank and weight supplier performance.
- Prepare and analyze techno-commercial comparative statements for informed decision-making.
Continuous Improvement:
- Ensure suppliers consistently meet cost, quality, and delivery benchmarks.
- Drive innovation in vendor development and sourcing strategies for finished products and raw materials.
- Establish and maintain annual rate contracts (ARC) for consumables and maintenance items.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
- Proven hands-on experience in procurement and vendor management, including direct and indirect materials.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable terms.
- Proficiency in market research, supply chain analysis, and inventory management.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet organizational goals.
- Experience in cost benchmarking and implementing savings initiatives.
