Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Purchase & Logistics Manager located in Goregaon (w), Mumbai at Pupscribe HQ. The Purchase & Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily purchasing activities, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, import & clearance and ensuring timely product deliveries. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

Logistics:

  • Coordinate with suppliers, logistics partners, CHAs, and prepare all required documents for shipping and import clearance.
  • Ensure all required importing permits and licenses—including but not limited to Sanitary Import Permits, IEC, Azo Dye Tests, EPR, PIMPS, and BIS—are applied for and renewed promptly
  • Thorough verification of all import related documents.
  • Initiate bank payments and file BOEs with the bank upon receipt.
  • Reduce procurement costs by identify alternate shipping / clearance partners.
  • Ability to swiftly determine customs duties, required import documentation, and GST rates for new HSN codes.
  • Keeping up with the latest trends, policy changes & other opportunities.

Purchase:

- Ensure optimum inventory levels are always maintained for 2000+ SKUs.

- Identification of the various trends & graphical factors that impact your purchasing decision.

- Updating the product sales tracker sheet in timely manner.

- Issue purchase orders on time and accurately record incoming inventory.

- Identify missed sales opportunities and collaborate with the sales team to plan retargeting as soon as stock arrives.

- Liquidation planning for dead / slow moving inventory alongside other team leaders.

- Track & report key metrics to management.

- Implementing, measuring & improving purchase related strategies.

- Track category price trends & new product launches.

- Conduct surprise warehouse audits to validate system inventory with actual stock in hand from time to time.

- General manufacturer / supplier communication including annual supplier performance presentations.

- Constantly striving to improve our terms with current suppliers / vendors.

Technical Competence:

- Advanced Microsoft Excel

- Microsoft word

- Microsoft power point

- Brownie points; Zoho books & inventory, Power bi

Experience & Skill Set:

  • Superb communication in both English & Hindi, verbal & written.
  • Prior experience with importing from China.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem solver with a strong analytical mindset
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Brownie points for being a pet parent or having prior experience in the pet industry.
