Job Summary:

The Senior MEP Design Manager will lead the development and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for high-performance data centre projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Coordination

  • Lead the design development of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems (CCTV, access control, BMS, etc.).
  • Evaluate full integration of ELV systems within the MEP design using BIM tools.
  • Manage clash detection and resolution using Navisworks or similar platforms.
  • Oversight on creation and maintenance of coordinated BIM models for all MEP disciplines.

Project Management

  • Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and MEP design standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and ELV consultants to ensure design alignment.
  • Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Monitor design progress and ensure timely delivery of documentation.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure design intent is met.
  • Conduct design review meetings and workshops with stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and BIM coordinators.

Quality & Compliance

  • Evaluate designs against Indian codes (NBC, IS standards) and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE).
  • Perform quality checks on BIM models and drawings.
  • Support commissioning and handover documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in MEP design and coordination, preferably in data centre or mission-critical projects.
  • Proficiency in BIM tools: Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of ELV systems and their integration with MEP.
  • Experience in managing design-build projects and working with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • BIM certification (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650 standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
