MEP Project Coordinator Role

The successful MEP project coordinator will play a pivotal role in delivering high-rise construction projects with precision and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the execution of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems.
  • C-coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and design engineers to resolve technical issues during construction.
  • Review and approve MEP shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs to ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks on MEP installations.
  • Manage MEP contractors, schedules, and monitor progress against project timelines.
  • Identify potential conflicts between MEP systems and structural architectural elements before installation.
  • Lead MEP commissioning processes and ensure proper system testing and documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings to report on MEP progress, issues, and solutions.
  • Review and approve payment applications from MEP subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • 15 years of MEP coordination experience in high-rise construction projects.
  • Professional engineering license or relevant MEP certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and standards related to MEP systems.
  • Experience with BIM 3D modeling software for MEP coordination.
  • Proven track record of successful MEP system integration in complex buildings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Advanced understanding of vertical transportation considerations in high-rise MEP design.
