MEP Systems Installation and Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Systems Installation and Quality Assurance Specialist to oversee the installation and ensure the quality assurance of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP) systems on construction projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Site Supervision: Regularly inspect MEP installations on-site to ensure compliance with design drawings and specifications. Monitor contractor activities to verify proper installation techniques and quality of materials. Identify and address any potential issues or discrepancies with the design or construction process.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality checks on MEP systems including HVAC, electrical wiring, plumbing fixtures, and fire protection systems. Review and approve contractor submittals like shop drawings, material technical data sheets, and installation method statements. Conduct field testing and inspections of MEP systems to ensure functionality and compliance with standards. As build drawing verification at site and approval.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with project stakeholders, architects, structural engineers, other MEP specialists, project management teams, and contractors to resolve coordination issues and ensure smooth integration of all building systems. Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to address concerns and maintain project schedule.
  • Technical Expertise: Interpret and apply building codes and regulations related to MEP systems. Provide technical support and guidance to contractors regarding MEP design and installation practices. Analyse and troubleshoot MEP system issues that arise during construction.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed site logs and reports documenting construction progress, non-compliance issues, and quality control activities. Prepare comprehensive reports highlighting successes and failures experienced during a project, for allowing future projects to learn from past experiences, avoid repeating mistakes, and improve processes by incorporating insights gained from previous work, ultimately leading to better outcomes and continuous improvement within an organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in MEP systems installation and quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of MEP design principles and construction practices.
  • Experience with MEP software, AutoCAD, Revit.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
