About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Superintendent to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of vessels, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain up-to-date records of vessel certifications and ensure compliance with class and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and manage operating costs within budgetary constraints.
  • Oversee the maintenance planning, execution, and control process to ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Supervise contractors and vendors in the repair and maintenance of vessels.
  • Formulate long-term maintenance plans and ensure their effective implementation.
  • Analyze vessel performance trends and implement timely remedial actions where necessary.
  • Conduct accident and incident investigations, risk analysis, and mitigation, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with the surveys and certifications team to ensure regulatory requirements are met.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field such as marine engineering or naval architecture.
  • Proven experience in technical management, preferably in the shipping industry.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Relevant certifications, such as MLC 2006 or ISM Code.
