Community Engineer Job Opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Community Engineer to join our team. As a Community Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting community initiatives and ensuring the smooth operation of our open-source software projects.

In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with developers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve technical issues, promote community engagement, and foster collaboration among team members.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for open-source software development. If you are a detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can thrive in a remote setting, we encourage you to apply for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with distributed teams to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote community engagement and collaboration
  • Work closely with developers and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of community plans with Canonical plans
  • Represent community interests to Canonical teams and facilitate open communication channels
  • Provide content and technical support to ensure community stays engaged and informed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in software development or a related field
  • Strong technical skills in Linux, DevOps, software development, testing, and QA
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possession of a clear public record of accomplishments (talks, blog posts, GitHub, Twitter, etc)
