Job Title: Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA

We are seeking a skilled Azure expert to lead the administration of our Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing our database infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications.
  • The role involves provisioning, configuring, and managing Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups.
  • Plan and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
  • Support lifecycle management of business critical applications, including installing patches, performing upgrades, managing releases, and administration tasks.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience working on Azure MS-SQL database.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting, particularly PowerShell and Azure CLI.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with database security principles and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
