
Chief Kitchen Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise a team of stewards and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation of the department.
• Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and maintain standards.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all kitchen equipment, utensils, and areas, including dishwashing areas, are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis. This includes overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen floors, walls, and storage areas, as well as maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation and storage areas in compliance with safety and health standards.
Inventory Management:
This role requires the ability to monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies, including cutlery, glassware, and cleaning products. The ideal candidate will order and replenish supplies as needed, ensuring no shortage of essential items, and perform regular checks and maintain records of stock levels and usage.
Health, Safety Compliance:
The stewarding department must comply with food safety and sanitation standards set by health authorities. This involves implementing safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintaining a safe working environment. Proper disposal of waste and adherence to environmental guidelines are also essential responsibilities of this role.
Coordination with Other Departments:
As a key member of the kitchen team, this individual will coordinate with chefs, restaurant managers, and other departments to ensure the smooth flow of operations. Support in food preparation areas is also required, ensuring that equipment and utensils are available and ready for use.
Equipment Management:
The chief kitchen operations manager will be responsible for ensuring proper care, handling, and storage of kitchen equipment and utensils. Overseeing the maintenance and repair of equipment to avoid breakdowns during operations is also an essential part of this role.
