Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to high standards of quality and presentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all basic food items for the menu requested by supervisors.
  • Utilize advanced knife handling skills to ensure efficient food preparation.
  • Work effectively in any section of the kitchen, ensuring a seamless service experience.
  • Apply knowledge of culinary terms and practices to enhance dish presentation and flavor.
  • Read, understand, and follow company recipes to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Develop efficiency and productivity skills to meet kitchen demands.
  • Adhere to Public Health standards within their section, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Maintain assigned areas in preparation for health inspections, demonstrating attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Report for duty at assigned times, follow supervisor instructions, and maintain personal appearance, uniform, and hygiene according to company rules.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in upscale hotels, resorts, or convention banqueting services, with at least 2 years as a Line Cook (shipboard experience preferred).
  • Culinary school degree is mandatory.
  • Proven management skills in multicultural and dynamic environments.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and people skills.
  • Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of personalized services, including needs assessment techniques and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
  • Excellent planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.
  • Intermediate computer software skills are required.
